With Valentine's Day fast approaching, a survey from Bloomberg Law and the Legal Marketing Association in the US finds that relationship between lawyers and marketings teams has never been better.
The survey reports growing marketing budgets and, more importantly, greater respect of BD teams and individuals.
This is perhaps no great surprise when BD teams are increasingly involved in pricing, client relationships and the strategic direction of firms.
Key to that successful relationship, however, is a real understanding of the business - that doesn't mean understanding the law, but how a legal business operates. And that can be a real challenge for many marketing and business development professionals.
According to the results of a joint survey by Bloomberg Law and the Legal Marketing Association (LMA), an overwhelming majority of both marketing and business development professionals (99 percent) and attorneys (88 percent) believe that their relationship with each other has either improved or remained positive over the past two years.
