I hope Facebook does do something to tackle the rise of fake news. There is a large demographic who use Facebook and don't question the validity of information, especially when seen on the trusted pages of friends and family.
As we have seen in this country with the Brexit campaigns and in the US with the election, the dangers of not tackling fake news can be great. It is distorting reality for many people who don't get a balanced news intake from elsewhere.
It makes our job as communicators incredibly challenging.
