The first working Monday in the New Year is known as 'divorce day' - the day when divorce lawyers see a massive spike in new enquires.  This piece in The Times The Brief from Weightmans partner Fiona Turner rightly dismisses this myth. 

But what 'divorce day' highlights is the increasingly difficult job legal marketing and PR people face when marketing family law practices. 

Pretty much every law firm in the country has a divorce practice offering the same services.  PRs will be chasing the same stories, offering more or less the same commentary.

Creative thinking is needed now more than ever. Those same old chestnuts are now well past their best. That is, of course, until divorce day 2017.
